We are happy to introduce you to Arboreus, a bench/installation in Ash and american walnut solid wood and steal structure for the seat
Like tree branches Arboreus embraces the entrance wall of a private home. It develops on the ceiling and expands sideways forming a niche for the dog’s home, becoming a complex and harmonious installation inspired by natural forms. Custom built for a Rome apartment and inspired, on the customers demand, by Reinoso’s “Spaghetti bench”, Arboreus required two months of intense experimentation on wood bending and one month to build and assemble it.

From 12th to 19th September, at Limonaia di Villa Strozzi in Florence, there will be Source – Selfmade design: 8 days dedicated to the self made design (www.sourcefirenze.it) with an exhibition where there will be 40 Italian and international designers and also workshops, events and seminars.

Source focuses on objects and creations and also works of designers who directly invent and realize their products creating new scenarios between creativity and production. A path far away from industrial production – but to which the industry should give credit - that rediscovers the handcraft creations with a look to the future and the new technologies

In the last few months, Rota-lab hosted Masha, a student from the French design school ENSCI - Les Ateliers, who had asked us for a period of internship. The time together went by quickly and Masha has now returned to Paris: with this post we would like to wish her all the best; we are sure we will see her again soon

The Etoiles, an old boat anchored in Sharm El Sheikh has been given a new life. Rota-lab oversaw the design of spaces and furniture, the construction was done by local craftsmen. See more pictures in the spaces > commercials section of our website. More pictures on our blog!

We are happy to announce we started a collaboration with Spazio Anna Breda in Padua, Italy. Through out the Christmas holidays you can see and purchase our “elementare” one-of-a-kinds seats and “poisson” lamp. After January 31st  2013 the Gallery will keep having in their catalogue some of our products, as the "Biptico" and "Ego" tables.

Rota-lab will teach courses as part of "Mexico & Italy Puente Cultural", project of Higher Education created by Gino Finizio Design Management, Politecnico di Milano-School of Design and Tecnologico de Monterrey.
The course is aimed at introducing participants to new skills and business management issues in the design field and equip them with knowledge, tools and basic assumptions necessary to address the issue of design.

The course takes place from 13 February 2012 to 27 April 2012. 

The meetings with Rota-lab shall take place during the workshop "ArchitectureMinimum - The living module", coordinated by Alessandro Gorla (Gino FinizioDesign Management) and Fabio Coppola (Bc-lab) scheduled for the week March 6 to 10.
